This week I needed to create a congratulatory card for a co-worker of mine and I decided to tie it into PPA12. I absolutely love the colors on this card and am quite thrilled with how it turned out. The 5” x 7” card base is out of Very Vanilla card stock. I normally make A2 size cards, but a group of co-workers were going to need to sign this congratulatory card so I needed to make it a little bit bigger to fit all of the signatures. I took a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock and placed it on to the front of the card. I stamped polka dots in Bermuda Bay Ink, from my Polka Dot stamp, along the right side of the Bermuda Bay card stock. In the middle I glued a small piece of Soft Suede card stock also with polka dots in Soft Suede Ink. I then attached a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on top which will hold my flowers. This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge designed by a fellow Stampin’ Pretty Pal of mine, Margaret Moody.
I didn’t have a congratulatory sentiment from Stampin’ Up! that I could use so I had to resort to another stamp brand for the “Hip Hip Hooray.” The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede Ink onto a piece of Old Olive card stock. I antiqued the Old Olive card stock by creating rough edges with a pair of scissors and rubbing Soft Suede Ink along the edges. Polka Dots in Old Olive Ink were placed on the right hand side and a flower in Soft Suede with a brad from Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.
The flowers, which represent the circle for me in the sketch design, were created from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlits Dies. The flowers were created out of Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede card stock with a few brads from Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware. The stem of the flowers was created from the Eastern Blooms stamp set in Soft Suede Ink.
