Happy Wednesday morning my dear blog friends! It is super cold this morning in New England. Frost covered everything outside this morning. The weather men are even saying there is a chance for some snow this weekend!!! Wooohoooo! I love snow! Especially since I live in a condo and I don't have to clear the drive way myself - the condo association does it for me :o)
I love how today's card for my Christmas Creations Countdown turned out. I utilized some scrap pieces of Stampin' Up!'s old Manchester Designer Series Paper. I loved this card stock and am sad that I've run out of it. I also used Always Artichoke, Kraft, and Very Vanilla card stock. The tree is from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set which was originally stamped in Always Artichoke ink and then I used white embossing powder to give it a wintery look. I also used a sponge to give a distressed look around the tree in Soft Suede ink.The snowflakes are from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set and those were stamped in Always Artichoke as well. A cream colored ribbon and three brass brads finish the card off.
Oops a Daisy Tips:
- I utilized my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the tree first in Always Artichoke ink and then again in Versamark to be able to apply the white embossing powder.
- To keep your card stock from bending while using a heat embossing tool don't keep the heat tool too close to the card stock and always keep the tool moving (don't hold it in one spot).
- Keep all scrap paper!!! A scrap piece of Manchester DSP worked perfectly for this card and saved me time from having to break out a new piece of DSP paper and cut it down to size.
Supplies Used: PAPER: Always Artichoke, Kraft, Very Vanilla, and Manchester DSP. INK: Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, and Versamark. STAMPS: Lovely As A Tree and Serene Snowflakes. Clever way to give the tree a "wintery" look. That was my favorite pattern from Manchester. Love it for t he holidays. Hugs, M
