I vowed this holiday season that I would limit buying any holiday decorations. I just can't seem to resist holiday decorations - some people have a weakness for chocolate - mine is holiday decorations. While shopping at my local Pottery Barn - for Christmas Gifts not for me :o) - I came across this adorable mini tree. It was a must have!!!
Since I had to limit my decorations for this year I promised that I would not buy any ornaments for the tree. This tree is adorable all by itself yet it seemed so lonely to me. While working on some holiday cards using Stampin' Up!'s Ornament Punch a light went on for me....why not make some cute little ornaments. That's exactly what I did! I didn't want to overcrowd the tree with paper ornaments so I only made a few utilizing Rose Red and Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper. I used a 1/4" Hole Punch to tie White and Certainly Celery Grosgrain ribbon through each of the paper ornaments to hang them onto the tree. The topper is some red, brown and green twine tied into a bow. This was a super simple project and I hope you can find other creative ways to use paper, stamps and such throughout your home this holiday season.
Below is a picture of the tree on top of my mantle (to the right).
Supplies Used: PAPER: Certainly Celery and Rose Red DSP. EMBELLISHMENTS: White and Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon. TOOLS: Ornament Punch and 1/4" Hole Punch. And don't forget about the adorable mini tree!
